Ive read countless thread about immobilisers, and ive gathered that my mk3 16v has one, but my key is like this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-Golf-Jetta-Mk2-Mk3-Black-Uncut-Key-Classic-Logo-AH_W0QQitemZ270402263719QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item3ef53b1aa7&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C72%3A1683%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50
I don't have an extra fob or immobiliser button. Car starts fine so im a bit confused. Is there something within my key?

yes, if you take the key apart theres a little black rectangle in the top left, that is the imobiliser chip.
