Title: steering wheel stalk adaptors???

I have bought a pioneer HU and it has a 'hard wire adapter' socket in the rear.

I have looked in halfords and on ebay and you can get these:

So, do these things actually allow for your steering wheel controls to control your HU?

Its just that I thought you would have to buy a specific one for your vehicle??

thats just the pioneer patch lead you also need the stalk adapter to connect to that i take it you have a mk5 golf
