When i was switching my one of my door cards i noticed a connection which had come out of its female counterpart in the door. The cables joined near the door handle, but as my central locking was working im not sure what it was. As far as i know, nothing wasn't working, and now they're reconnected, nothing has started to work :S
Im guessing VW don't just stick random bits of wiring in, so what could it have been? (wish id taken a picture now)

Electric mirrors?

hmm, not sure. they worked fine though :S so not sure if it could have been that. It was at the opposite side of the door to the electric mirrors too. i.e. right next to the handle of the door.

Well the only thing that joins near the handle is the mirrors, both sides have wiring.

Must have been that then. Strange how the mirrors worked both before and after lol. I must've knocked out the cable when i was removing the doorcard then.
Thanks for clearing it up :)

Could be the window switch lights lights? there is also a switch for the central locking window closure functions (closing or opening all the windows when turning the key in the lock) and there is also a connector for remote locking which connects to a motor by the door pin?. just because you joined it in the door, doesnt necersarily mean its joined to anything in the door pins, the plugs might just be there as a money saver for when they put more equipment in.
