The interior shots are from a 3dr yet the photos show a 5dr.
-
very good point, i did'nt notice that!
doggy doggy doggy
-
Nice spot wayne, i hadn't noticed either. Definitely something fishy there.
-
I also think it is expensive, yes it is low miles (if genuine) but £2k is a lot, I struggled to sell my 8V with 60k, took ages to sell and ended up with less than £1300k for it.
-
"Just had Reconditioned gear box fitted with new gearbox oil (common MK3 Gti fault so no worries from now on with it)"
Hmmm after 47k its either ragged to s**t or not genuine mileage IMO
-
I payed 900quid for a P Reg 8v gti, with 55k on the clock... last year. I also knew the owner, so mine is genuine... Its always a dodgy thing buying a 2nd hand car, u never know what the previous owner/s have been doing to it. and yeah seems strange its not a pic from a 5 door... its probably a stitcher lol

As far as I know, all colour concept Recaro front seats came with the levers on them so that they could be used in both 3dr or 5dr cars.
Although looking at the picture again, you can see the rear door cards are 3dr, so you're still correct lol
-
yep - photo's of inside look like a 3dr (3dr door cards).
also "Tottaly [sic] Standard, only modification is a sony head unit what is includded in the sale".
That, and the exhaust.... and the wheels (which look like they have the wrong offset).
Plus, I thoguht th ecolour concepts also had colour-coded bumper-tops and a wheel arches....
Not sure on the brake calipers... I know the anniversary ones were painted, but not sure on colour-concept....

aren't the levers on the wrong side of the seat? surely they should be next to the door and not in the middle?
rear parcel shelf... missing
rear seat looks as though it has a rip in it

The wheels are standard! They were on cc and some vr6s, called sollitudes I think! I got some up my shed! Don't think cc had colour coded bumper tops and arches either!

Correct the wheels and bumpers are right for a cc.

Just asked the seller a question about the photo's of the interior. Ill await his rapid response if he's eager to tell!

I have done the same, not had a reply.
-
told me he made an error posting the photo's of the 3 door interior, and didn't notice himself, he has lots of photo's of golfs apparently.
the prob with the gearbox was something to do with the reverse popping out and crunching when holding it in.
-
Only a trained eye would notice these things, thats why I love this Forum

The gearbox has been fixed! Still expensive though!
-
or you could buy my cabriolet... ;)
.....at least my gearbox has never needed fixing and it's already got had the cambelt was done <10k miles ago and clutch <1 yr ago, front brakes and tyres all done in the 6 months / 1000miles... AND it has never been used for towing...
seriously though... that seems like a quite a lot for a P-reg regardless of mileage.... seems like a random thing to ask for, but it's a hard one to fake if it actually has mega-miles on it.... ask him for a photo of the footwell (and make sure it's the right car!).... 67k miles looks like this:

also - the seat stiching on the colour concept looks pretty different from the Recaro's in the cabriolet... or am I getting over-suspicious again?

Not sure about the footwell idea cos my car has done 120k and looks just like the one in lostboks pic! The steering wheel and gearknob can sometimes give it away though if standard!
Pete
-
Worn seat bolsters have probably gotta be the biggest give away id say, gear knobs, pedal rubbers and steering wheels only take a few quid and minutes to swap over.
-
pedals = meaningless - as easilly swapped.... I've seen a lot of base floor matts that look very worn....
