Well after having my milltek fitted since December 2008 It has developed cracks in the rear section welds around where the tailpipes join the rear box. After 6 months somthing telling me they not very good and are poorly made . Went down to my local garage today and got it took off all the way to the turbo and hav had my old standard system put back on. Got a full refund even the fitting charge so my Hat comes off to the garage. I am totally stuck what to do now. Another Milltek Jetex Or a completey custom fit stainless exhaust with sports cat. HUMPH

get a custom stainless from a local specialist much better imo
-

Get the Blueflame then!!
Had mine on nearly 3 years now, with no probs whatsoever!!
Sounds the same as a Milltek, but much better quality! :P
They're OEM suppliers for Lotus & Bentley, so they can't be that bad! ;)
-
Go for a Jetex.
-
Hmm yeh got lots of ideas floatin around in my head atm
-
Go for a Jetex.
If B/F won't make me an Anni style, then I'm going for a Jetex. 8)
-
after spending endless times under the car polishing my miltek i gotta say that the quality was good, all welds were nice and smooth and no birdsh!t welding.
did the garage check to make sure the exhaust system wasnt stressed by incorrect mounting?
-
no it was not stressed just a crap weld tbh
-
thats a real shame mate as i do think miltek offer a better range of system. If i was gonna go away from miltek i would look at a 3" system might be worth waiting around for R-tech to start selling theres
-
Jetex is £782 for turbo back plus fitting Milltek is £742 turbo back 4mo fully fitted
-
bit of Scaff tube and jobs a kipper

-
Cowboy performance mate, will get a extra 10 donkey power from it.

ah too many ideas
-
do you like the exhaust note Ivor and are you running a turbo back system?
-
ive always used "Longlife" exhausts, there builds are excellent quiality and they offer a huge range of tail pipe designs. good value too, is around £290 for a cat back system.
-
link please alex?

Yes & yes! Love it!
Just need an Anni tail pipe for the new valance & a non-res centre section for an extra 0.7 bhp, lol!! :D
-
lol ivor
-
Heres alink to there site mate, you have to find your nearest centre, give them a email or call for a qoute, they qill probs give you a price of £320 to start with, just emauil them back saying thats alittle over your budget and then they generally offer it to you for the 290-300 mark. cant fault these guys those, ive had my last 2 cars done by them and theyve been spot on, sound brillant and quality is second to none.

-
Hmm dont like the Tail pipe selection
-
Longlife/Powerflows are only as good as the franchise/welders that sell/make them - Heard lots of mixed reviews on them. Just be careful.
BF cat-back is £295 + £10 P&P ready to bolt on. (I'm not on commission in case anyone's wondering, lol!). :D
-
seriously £750 for an exhaust do they include lube with that or is that dry??
-

I think they actually wrap sandpaper around their todgers before they do you (w/o lube, of course)!!!
-
its lubed up all the way mate lmao. May aswell spend the money on sumthing
-
You know the £570 B/F turbo back makes sense, lol! :D
-
Yep sounds good TBH ivor you got a pick of urs mate the 4mo one
-
An early pic - It sits a little more central than that, these days.

-
Hmm decisons
-
From looking at the stuff that awesome have on display i can tell you that the APR exhaust parts are far superior than the Milltek gear, guess the price difference backs up that build quality.
-
Is a 200 cell cat not required going on the link Ivor posted? Is 100 ok?
-
I have a turbo back jetex syatem and im happy with it, very good quality, a little boomy when giving it the beans but most stainless systems are. I was going to get a miltek until i heard the same story as what u have experienced.
-
I chose the right exhaust then :smug:
-
im thinkin about getting a discreet scorpion system off ebay, its a cat back.
what do people think of scorpion?
-
Hmm dont like the Tail pipe selection
they are a tiny selection of the tail pipes and i agree they are all pretty naff. they do standard 3" twins etc etc.
-
Think one of the main reason's i like Miltek is the R32 style system sounds real sweet.
-
Have a word with Nick to see when their exhausts are going to be ready. He said the company which is pre-fabricating all the pipe work is Welsh Coast Customs which is by me. and their welder/fabricator is meant to be very good. plus am sure Nicks prices will be very competitive
-
What tailpipes use jetex owners got on then? And do jetex do an exhaust to fit the 4 month valance?
-
Yes, they do. They do all the Milltek options + you can also have a single oval to fit through 4M valance.
VW Speed sell them (don't know if they're the cheapest, though):-
