Title: Engine swop?

Can i stick a MK2 engine in a MK1?
If so what happens to the ECU....s it just thrown away as surely it's needed for all electrics

Yes if fitting an 8v then all you do is swap your parts over as required including binning the ecu, if fitting a 16v then you will need the ecu etc.
