Title: MK 2 engine into a MK1
Post by: Tramp on 06 June 2009, 12:39
Hi
I am thinking of dumping a MK11 engine into my MK 1. The MK2 obviously uses a ECU where a MK1 does not.

Will this make a difference?

although i am looking for a possible breakable engine i am not ruling out a retail recon one. My problem is i could fit myself but they all include fitted in their prices.

so far i have been quoted £800 fitted

Can anyone help me on my enquiry and and find a good cheap but resonsable company

thanks

the wireing is easy enough to sort.  all the ecu's can be made to work from +12 , ing live, start selonoid and ground should the need arise

i'd skew the mounts down 15mm and put a tall block in  ether 8 or 16v or an NA 20v and run it on itb's with MS
