A bit of a random topic, but ive had the car from nearly new (57 reg) don't do alot of miles, but making my 4th warranty claim next week. Altough each time its for a couple of things that need addressing as the looks I would get from taking the car down there each time a single problem occurs  .
Any other view on warranty work?

Mines had 4 new monza II's, 4 new centre caps, high level brake light all done recently. Also previous owner had something in the ABS system done under warranty. Mines 06 plate with very low mileage.
Get everything done, its what the warranty is for.

^ are the Monza's covered under warranty??? if so mine are going in as well...already had coolant issues, now got cigarette lighter issues ie not enough power to charge phones etc. plus the boot release has white worm so might have to get that done as well then!!
-
Next week for the fuel leak! :undecided:
Have u got a pic of the monza's as to which point the white worm is a warranty claim, as I 've been told by the dealer it has to have a considerable amount which is a joke!??? Got over a years warranty left tho
-
they were refurbed but not fully...bit of a joke, as i always think a proper job will be done and that pride will be taken, but it was a quick refurb on the scuffs before i bought the car

Havent got any pictures of the wheels as the previous owner had all 4 done 4 weeks ago just before I bought it. Check out my thread on warranty stuff, theres pics of white wormed centre caps in there.

Also the wheels were brand new replacements not refurbs.

Bought my '06 plate GTI from Martin's in Basingstoke and they replaced the rear wheels under warranty without me even asking. They had a tiny amount of corrosion coming through but it wasn't too bad. They got the fronts refurbed as they were scuffed - good job though, done by Wicked Wheels apparently. They didn't replace the centres, but I bought a brand new set off ebay for £20.
If the car is still under warranty then hassle your dealer and get in touch with VW UK. You shouldn't have to do it but it will be worth the hassle.

My 1998 BMW had 18 warranty claims in its life including a new gearbox so 4 is very minor to be honest.

I've had all 4 Monza II's replaced, headlamp level sensor replaced, drivers seat cover replaced due to the stitching splitting on the bolster, new rear passenger side wheel bearing, and due to an issue with a misfire I had a new injector, inlet manifold motor and coilpack

Had new engine, centre caps, boost solonoid, aircon sensor and its going back in the coming friday for what I assume is a new fan as the small one is not working and the larger one constantly comes on to conmpensate. I also have a loud whining noise coming from the engine when in motion. Any ideas on what that could be?
I can feel quite abit of vibration through the gear stick, pedals and generally the floor.
Not even a year old.

Christ, was the engine run in properly? thats got to be well pi$$ taking as its not even a year old. hope it gets sorted

That's a lot of problems to have in the first year. Have you thought about rejecting the car back to VW and asking for a new one?
Sometimes you just get a friday night car...........

When I worked at Fiat we had brand new cars come in with batteries and crushed beer cans stuffed into the chassis on the puntos! couldn't get them out- we had to use expanding foam to stop the noise they made flying up and down the chassis as we couldn' get them out.

Nice FIAT build quality!

I wasnt happy in the slightest and wanted a different car but they didnt seem to care too much and said take it to the stealers I purchased it from but they said we can work out a deal. So basically he would buy my car at a stupid price and I would have to put another 4k down to get a new car. Ridiculous.

Yeah, it had a cracked block which happens from time to time, basically it came like that from the factory.
-
thats bad, have you tried trading standards?
-
It happend at 4 months old and its pushing on a year old now so cant really see me having a strong argument anymore.
Was expecting to have alot of problems with other things when the new engine was fitted and things seem to be going all the time, if it continues then I can give the car back in March next year and look for something different or maybe a DSG ED30.
