Title: Compomotive 7j 16's hmmmm ?
Post by: erb91 on 05 June 2009, 23:22
Now then, got the new MK1 project the other week and the old fella i bought it off threw in a set of wheels he said hed had laying around in the shed for years ! soo me being me i never turn down something thats free. . . .  especially wheels =p got them home and had a decent look and saw they were Compomotive wheels, i will probably refurb them and put them on the MK2 for a while. but has anyone got any ideas what they are worth ? if it helps they have Compomotive and 7jx16 on the front near the stud holes and on the inside there are a few bits of writing including Made In England and they are 4 by 100. any help would be great

Cheers, Ethan

I don't know what the baove ones are bu they're cool as funk.

I love old school compos, got the ones below which I've been told were original fitment on MKI Rocco Storms.

compomotives are good strong motorsport rims and as you order direct from them...fairly cheap.  You've got some mid 90s design there.

If they weigh more than a Sebring then they'll make the car feel lead-footed and horrid - Sebrings weigh 9.3kg, which is a LOT.  As an example a modern Team Dynamics 15X7" rim will weigh about 6.6kg and transform the way your car feels.

Unsprung mass has a major impact in the way your car feels and rides.  I'm sure they're very nice period items, but it's a heavy, old design by the sound of it.
