I've done my search button research on a mk2 brake upgrade and I know what I need...4stud hub 280 caliper and carrier etc etc
My question is...when I get to the scrappy and I find say a nice early mk3 golf....how do I tell if it has the golden 256+ hub?? (que laughter!!) Is it just the GTI, corrados etc basically sports model becasue dont some polos have it too?
All help much appreciated as you can tell

the 256mm and 280mm hubs have caliper carriers bolted to them.
you'll be looking for golf 2 16v's, 90's passats, corrados , seat cordobas ( 280mm )

oh and another thing...do i do all 4 or just the front?!!

Golf3 is 5 stud and different hubs. Unless you're going to convert to 5-stud then you don't want a Golf3.
Danny's listed out the donors you need to check on.
Provided you have a GTI you only need front brakes to be upgraded.

I know about the mk3 golf being 5 stud dunna worry...just thought the early ones were 4.
And I've got my list of donor cars that have them on for when I go scrappy searching I just wanted to doubly make sure that when I thought I had found one that was the 256/280, I could check to make sure I actually had!
Cheers for your help
