Title: Highline display going crazy sometimes
Post by: jaydubveedub on 05 June 2009, 16:56
I have a MK5 GTI with MFSW and the highline display. I usually drive with it displaying the audio screen.

Occasionally, the whole right hand side of the screen goes red, and the text etc it squashed up into the other half. It only does it for a second or two and then goes back to normal. Has anyone else had this?

Not sure what causes it, or if it is a common fault. I am hoping it could be cured by a software update or something.

If anyone else has experienced this please can you let me know - and if you know how to sort it then even better!

Car still under warranty, but I have visions of multiple dealer visits culminating in the YTS mechanic replacing the cluster and not putting it back together properly!

Don't take my word for it but it does sound like you may need a new display unit.

I think it's fooked. Get it replaced from a dealer you have some confidence in.

Easier said than done. My local dealers are not great. The dealer I bought the car from are pretty decent, but they are 2 hours away.

Can anyone recommend a good main stealer near to Banbury?
