Title: Question about Golf vr6 mk3 speakers

I went to a car audio shop and the guy said 16cm are the biggest ones that are possible for my car.

But is he wrong? I thought I could have 17cm ones installed.

Does anyone know the truth? I'd really like to have 17cm Alpine ones installed.

Can I put 17cm ones in front and rear?

17cm will fit but you may need to trim a couple of square lugs off on the door card to allow the speaker to sit flat on the panel
