Got a mk3 1997 16v GTI, with this dam weather, when i turn the heaters to cold, its not cool enough, warmer than the air outside! Is it possible to put air con in it somehow?
-
Not really, you would need to find a donor car and transfer all the parts over, would be a lot of work.
-
MAHOOSIVE job that involves chopping up the bulkhead too and replacing the whole front end panel for the twin fan and rad combo. A VR6 setup wouldn't fit either so you'll be pretty hard pushed to find a full setup from a mk3 16v with air con!

selling my vr6 and yes its got air con
-
Wouldnt bother with this conversion. Its more involved than swapping an engine tbh.

air con is a massive job, I will take on an engine change any day but air con ...thats one thing i would be scared of doing.

as above. Just make do with the standard system blowing hot air to your face
-
Open the windows.

You'd be cheaper to just buy another one thats got air conditioning as standard.
-
Plonk in a sun roof to let that hot air out the top
plus
Open the windows.

Just cruise at like 50 with the windows open, then you dont die. lol
