Title: Oil gl-4 or gl-5.

Hi

I dont know whether i have just been stupid and filledthe gearbox with the wrong type of oil. I have just gone and filled the box with 80-90 gl-5 manual gearbox oil. I later noticed when going to buy some more to just top it to the brim that i could get gl-4 aswell. Done abit of internet researching and have come to no real conclusion.

Anyone know whether it is actually fine to use gl-5 oil in a box originally specified for gl-4?

The car is a 1996 mk3 gti 16v

It will be ok, I believe gl5 is a bit thicker.
