Title: Safety Question about Spacers
Post by: DMackie on 01 June 2009, 22:45
Im currently running merc alloys on my mk3, i bought 25mm PCD adaptors so that they would fit taking them from 51et to 26et, the front looks perfect but the rears looked a bit tucked.
I asked what size of adaptors i could get away with and most said 25mm is as far as i could go without rubbing issues as 30mm would take me to 21et and this could cause issues.

What im wanting to know is is it safe to put a 3mm adaptor onto my PCD adaptors, id prob have to get ones which would suit a mk5 so the fitment and bore is correct.
What are folks thoughts?

I would not to be honest, wheels are under enough stress with running adaptors as it is, why not switch to 30mm adaptor and trim the arch if needed.
