most will say Milltek but i'm looking at getting one custom made

any exhaust places local to you who could give you a quote??

At the end of the day its just a bit of pipe - with a diesel you can remove the cat and still pass the MOT :afro:

yep :afro:

you're looking at approx £450, maybe more.  The downpipe (cat replacement) is around £150

FYI removing the cat on mine reduced power due to a loss of back pressure

strange - most people who have had it done say the turbo spools faster and it gives more power  :undecided:

Euan

you either get the exhaust supplied direct and find someone to fit it OR find a local Milltek dealer to supply and fit - normally they offer reduced fitting if fitting a full system

First a question - You do have a turbo diesel don't you...?

If the answer to the above question was yes, then who ever told you your car lost power because of the loss of back pressure due to the removal of the cat is a complete idiot and knows nothing about how your car works....

The exhaust on a tdi has no influence what so ever on the back pressure on the engine, the back pressure is provided by the turbo, after that you want the exhaust gases to escape as quickly as possible to help keep EGT's down and allow the turbo to flow efficiently.
