Title: Serious Issues
Post by: ballsie2000 on 01 June 2009, 11:42
Ok here goes,

mid last week the car was all ok. parked one night and the following morning for some unknown reason the battery was flat when i went to go to work in the morning.

following this i jump started the car, and the following frustrating problems have ensued;

1: the central locking no longer works.
2: the fag lighter does not work.
3: the interior light does not work.
4: the clocks reset every time i start the car.

i have performed the following basic checks yet to no avail:

checked all the fuses
reset the ecu by disconnecting the battery.

please some one help with this probem as im starting to loose my patientce with it.

Hi.. not heard of that before i must admit.. but as a first instinct did you leave the battery disconnected for long enough..? i think most people go for ten minutes, others 30 munutes just for certainty.. the other thought, do you have the correct rating battery in the first place..?
Hopefully there weren't any sparks flying anywhere when you were handling the jump leads, i guess i'm hoping your ecu hasn't been damaged somehow.

Let us know if you have any progress,
