Hello guys i will be putting my mint mk2 gti up for sale soon as i just cant mod it as just too good to do it  but i am thinking about a mk3 vr6 stripped of just about everything that can be taken out even the glass  it will be done in plexiglass ,
it will be sat as low as i can get it for the track with a full cage on the inside  .
so do u think its a good idea to use a vr6? i know they are about 1100kg but i can sort that out easy and i like the idea of being able to use vag com on it too and just look after it myself as i do most of the work on my cars.
thought and info would be great and pics of mk3 track cars too

Some say that the VR6 is to heavy up front for a track car, and the 16v is a better option.
But the VR6 is more tunable should you fancy it.

I picked up a 16v anni a few months ago for my sister in law and it's a nice car but I am thinking that abit of grunt from the vr6 could be good as I have had a mk4 r32 before and it was abit front happy LOL but had enough grunt and noise to keep me happy
Is the mk3 16v better as I was thinking of a mk2 16v again but would buy a cheap one and see how it goes LOL it's just I think a mk3 vr6 could be fun and is a little bit more modern :undecided:

I would agree for the VR6 for grunt. As it is in a mk3 shell so it wont be too over weighted at the front.
Although the mk2 16v could be even better as an all rounder.... in the corners. haha!
