fits on a vr6, will it fit onto a mk3 1.6GL?
im really hoping so :undecided:
-
Different bore sizes, by a long way. The VR6 is bigger than the 8v gti, the 8v gti is bigger than the 1.6gl.
Would need a reducer sleeve to fit it, but im not sure if they make one for that big a reduction of the shelf.
-
oh really, damn!
ive bidded on one on ebay, and still seem to be winning
but obv didnt look into properly :undecided:
if i get a dtm for a mk3, that'll fit won't it?
-
no sorry my bad, its a GTI!
dont know if that helps or not?
-
GTi is a bit closer, but still needs a reducer. lol
-
alright wicked
are they expensive?
sorry im useless
-
Dont think so. probably a tenner. Think volksbits sell them. Not sure. Dont quote me on that price.
-
would you be able to link me to what i need, have no clue:S
much appreciated!
-
Theres 2 reducers on this page, but im not sure which one you want, as i dont know the width of the exhausts on a VR6, GTI and GL.

its only a back box. not a full system:)
-
yeah, can still use a reducer.
Just take it to a exhaust place, and get them to make up a sleeve?
-
well if i take it to a garage im sure they'll fit it.
not sure how much it'd be, and they'd know what i need:)
-
Did you think youre 8v gti was a 1.6??

No he has a 1.6 and the exhaust he's bidding on is for a GTI :lipsrsealed: You selfpwned yourself lol!
I will say Toby that the backbox I have for my 1.8 GL was for a 16v GTI, different bore sizes, however they made it fit, don't even think they used a sleeve, just exhaust putty or something :)

God damn, it's late :undecided:

Performance 3000 in Yeovil, they specialize in modding cars etc, I wouldn't say it was a normal garage, but take it somewhere that does that kind of thing :)
-
yeah see there is no where like that in kettering :undecided:
got a few vw garages though
