Hi again all,
Whilst trying to heat up my snapped manifold bolts i noticed that i managed to burn the gasket type thing the injector plugs into on my 1.8 Gti K Jet engine:

Firstly anyone know what the part is called?
Secondly will it be ok to leave as is?, seems it wasn't direct flame that did it.
Lastly is this part easy to replace with head on?
Thanks

Injector housing or seat, easy to change, the injector pops out and they unscrew with a allen key.

dont suppose you know where i can get them? part number etc? Are they specific to K-jet engine?
thanks

GSF or VW sell them. if you phone them they will look at etka and tell you,and they will get you one. or someone on here will be nice enough to look on etka and tell you, then you can order it...

I have etka but find it biut confusing to use as its hard to find K jet specific diagrams i find (although i am a newbie)
I have found this part can anyone check if its correct. Injector Seal - + 034 133 557 E
My engine is a 1.8 K - Jet Gti from a Mk2. I think engine code is DX but its very lightly stamped and i could be wrong.
Thanks

the part in the pic is the actual insert, unfortunalty there are 2 available depending on the year. But judging from the fact they have melted I'm, pretty sure you have the ealier ones, the later ones are all brass I believe, but unfortunatly the early ones are discontinued :(
The late ones are:
063 133 555 A - 3.77
But I am unsure if they'll actually fit in the head, I have seen discussions in the past that suggest they do not. 16v use the same inserts as above and these are made of brass, so see if you can get one try.
the part # you have there is correct for the actual seal :)

So is the seal that i listed the part number for different from the insert that i have melted? or are they different names for the same thing?
If its just the upper part that i have burned the outside on can i still run the engine like this or would it most probably have negative effects?
Surly there is some kind of compatible replacement? :(
thanks for all the help

the seal goes on the injector itself, and seals it to the outer bit that has melted.
only thing i can think of is to try the later brass insert, but im unsure if it will fit :(
