Well as some of you know I picked up a 06 plate GTi last week, minter 7k miles one owner.
Took it for a spin today in this cracking weather, on a long straight going throught the gears (within the speed limits) and went to go from 5th to 6th and the clutch pedal was on the floor  checked mirrors and braked. Managed to flick the pedal back up and then pull in safely.
Now I had a clutch slave cylinder go on my freelander with the same symptoms (pedal not returning without flicking it back up).
If the pedal was only half depressed it would return if it was fully pressed to the floor then it wouldnt return back without the flick. Working this out I managed to get it back home. After speaking with my old man and "pumping" the clutch pedal for a few minutes has seemed to cure it. (possible sticking valve?)
I can only put it down to the last drivers doggy gear changing or the lack of use its had as in the valve in the cylinder sticking.
Its in VW dealer on monday for warranty work so im going to get it looked at then.
What are your thoughts lads? any one else had this?
Cheers and sorry for the long essay..................

Think you've already self-diagnosed this
Not a known GTI problem but you are doing the right thing in getting it to the dealers asap as you could have a nasty accident

cheers cass, like I said it seems ok after pumping the pedal for 5 or so minutes, but as much as I really want to drive it today, im going to leave it till the dealer takes a look.
Not really the best thing to happen whilst "enjoying" the car.

Well its now at the dealers, see what they say, also took it in for drivers wing mirror light which seems to have a crack yet no paint damage on the casing??? I say recon it was the frost that made it crack...

Had it back from the dealer, seems my "pumping" cured the problem as they have found nothing wrong.
