I've also posted this on mk5GolfGTI.co.uk, but thought I might get a slightly wider audience here - plugged this (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=160331629508) cable in (thanks to the great FAQ)... however, can't get it to activate.
I thought you just had to press "CD" twice to enable the aux function......
There is a black connector in the packet - an 18-pin black block connector - I didn't actually see where this could go though. I think it's for the SatNav version.
Am I missing something?

cannot see how that would work as it needs some form of ciruit to fool the h/u into thinking there is still a changer fitted
i have supplied these before and never had an issue

LOL - just my luck! thankfully only cost me £8 :)
Don't want to spend much as I'm looking at a new H/U to replace the AWESOME rcd300

So by the looks of it, there's no "cheap" way to integrate a 3.5mm input into the RCD 300? Correct?
(ps thanks Troublestarter )
