Title: new gearbox and clutch

hi gents just had a new recon gearbox fitted to car and clutch yesterday so decided to test it on motorway . so gets on m/way and takes it up to 70 nice and steady  everything fine until i looked at rpm counter an found rpm at 70mph is 3600  :shocked: on my old box it sat at 3000 no probs nice and steady  why do you think its at 3600 is it newness of box or could it be a different ie earlier box my car is a 98 mk3 git r reg  any one  with any ideas or explanations   please feel free to post cheers .vmech
