Title: my car wont start
Post by: squires on 29 May 2009, 18:21
my mk2 gti wont start due to the immobiliser, its some old sh%t thing called conlog, when i put the chip in the red light keeps flashing instead of staying solid, thus the car wont start, when i turn the key the fuel pump wont prime, then sometimes it will for a second, iv tried disconecting the battery but it hasnt worked, so will be greatfull for any ideas.

i believe these were fitted to a few 90 spec gti's, how difficult would it be to remove? im in the aldershot area so if anyone could do it if i fail to, id pay obviously.

thanks lee

Just trace the wires from the immob - it will lead to a relay/control box that prevents your fuel pump from getting +ve

Could it be that your immobilser works on more than one circuit ?

trace all wires from control box, locate where wires are cut and rejoin them :)

managed to sort it, i unplugged the control box which then made the fuel pump prime. then traced the starter motor live wire into the steering column cut it from the immobiliser and re joined it
cheers for the help
