Title: Centre Cap/Service and Warranty
Post by: davoaj on 29 May 2009, 12:53
Afternoon All

Just a quick one, I came back from holiday on Tuesday to find that someone had stolen the centre cap from my rear passenger side alloy!!

Just wondered if anyone knew how much this would be to replace?

Also due in for the 20k service which I’m getting for £195 which I thought was about the going rate at the moment. The car’s warranty is up in September and I have a few little warranty issues I’m going to get sorted like black plastic peeling off the electric window rocker switch and the good old rattle from just above the head unit.

With warranty in mind are there any other things I should be asking them to check over? All four monzas have been replaced in the last year so they’re all immaculate!!

Cheers

Centre caps can be found on ebay.

Are you sure that the centre cap never 'fell off' whilst driving?  I have had three replaced foc by VW as they are know to break off due to them being clipped by plastic.

They are only about £4.95 from a dealer.

Get them to check the front and rear badges for White worm, if you've got the older smoothed rear badge (handle) it's particularly susceptible to it. Try turning your steering wheel to full lock and listen for creaks.... Known steering rack issue.
