Title: Panel Filter and Air Box mod...
Post by: christomk3gti on 29 May 2009, 10:50
hi guys, is this about the right price for a pipercross panel filter... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PIPERCROSS-Panel-Filter-PP1219-VW-Golf-Mk3-2-0-GTi-VR6_W0QQitemZ360153588730QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item53dad3a3fa&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1683%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50

Also I'm gunna be doing some air box mod, drilling the drivers side bottom of the box... with approx 8mm drill bits. (I like it to roar) :P

Is it essential to have a cold air (pipe work) If Yes, I direct it to the drilled holes i willbe drilling, and what about the original air intake pipe? just leave that where it is.?

Sorry if you guys are sick of reading thread like this, but just want the best out of the panel filter :-)

panel filter is at a good price, i paid £40 for my piperX panel filter.

You odnt need a cold air itnake but it does help ofcourse.

Standard pipe, remove it.

box is very easy to remove as its only held donw by 2 rubber straps. as for drilling, the hole sizes dont really matter.(i have cut away the whole lower wing section on mine.)
