Title: heating system/ducts, the same in all mkIIs?
Post by: wil0 on 29 May 2009, 05:49
is the heating system/ducts the same in all the mkII's?
Has anyone got a whole system laying about that i could purchase?
i have a 16v 90s spec golf, i live in ware, herts.

when i did the heater matrix, the forum was down, and i used the haynes manual to instruct me on what to do.
It was the hottest day of the year, i was already in a bad mood and the haynes manual missed out the bulkhead bolts, and i pretty much went nuts on the whole heating system/ducts. I ended up breaking several plastic clips, and trying to pry bits out. I did what my dad always told me todo and throw all the fasteners, screws and other bits in the hedge afterwards because i didnt know where they went.
Now it isnt sealed properly, its missing a flap that directs air, and the motor packed in, i snapped several plastic clips on it too.

Im dreading doing this job again, but this time im going to take the dash out, and ive learn't my lesson.
dont trust the haynes book of lies.

Not that you'll come across one, but the Mk2's with aircon have different set-ups.
