Title: What is the winter pack??

Have to admit...I just wanted an ED 30 and had no idea of the various extras available (duh) I know! But I do recall the sales guy telling me I had the winter pack.I think it included heated mirrors when the temp was 3 or below...can anyone tell me more? Also has an armrest,was that an added extra.Clearly I didn't buy it from new. Straight from the ministry of the bleedin' obvious me!!

Winter pack includes..

Electrically heated front seats (standard anyway on the Edition 30)
Heated windscreen washer jets
Headlight washers
Low washer fluid level warning light.

 :smiley:

heated mirrors are standard equipment.

The armrest is an option.

I pulled the wording out of the feb 08 Golf brochure. I know the ED30 has heated seating, but I don't know about the standard GTI. It says not in the book, but I'm not gonna argue as I know how VW can get these things wrong (like the weight of the ED30 in the technical section :grin: as heavy as an R32!)

Only with leather.
I don't have the winter pack, but the low washer fluid level warning light does come on :laugh: I think you get this if you have Gas Xenon headlights.

When I looked into this

for a normal mk5 GTI the winter pack was
heated seats (std with leather seats)
headlamp washers (std with Xenons)
heated windscreen washer jets
low washer fluid warning light (I think that if you have headamp washers, a larger washerfluid tank is fitted. The std tank has no low level sensor)

I have heated mirrors, washer level warning, headlight washers but no heated seats! Well i dont think so anyway.  :cry:

And you get headlight washers with xenons too, meaning that if you have an Edition 30 with xenons and specced the winter pack as well, you paid £205 or whatever it was just for heated washer jets because everything else is standard!  I didn't realise this until it was too late :angry:

I have xenons as well thats probably why i have the headlight washers and and the washer level warning light.

Still not sure why i have heated mirrors but not seats thou?

Heated mirrors are standard.
Heated seats are included on Edition 30 but are only available as part of the winter pack for the standard GTI.

Thats why then, i have everything except for heated seats so dont have the winter pack.  :grin:
