Title: Mk3 issue

Going along a 40mph 2000revs and it splutters like when the revs are down, stop and the revs jump about but after it warms/dries its ok.
This happens after its rained alot (no big puddles under car and gone through) any ideas as to what it could be?
Its a 1.4 on a P reg

Coil pack mabey?  Try some WD40 on it?
