Title: 1.6 mk3 problem - hesitating and jerking
Post by: hillary2005 on 27 May 2009, 20:09
Not had my golf long now but its started jerking

It only ever does it when its warmed up and then starts jerking and hesitating quite badly. After a second or 2 it sorts itself and goes again but everytime you slightly move the accelerator it does it again

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas on what it could be?

Thanks

if its the later engine (95 on i think) it will be dual injection, in which case get the throttle body off and give it a good clean, this will make the throttle a lot smoother.

When was it last serviced? a good service may sort it out if its not been done in a while.

had this on our mk3 polo, turned out to be the lambda. disconnect it and see if car runs better :)
worth swapping the ecu temp sensor too, get it from VAG tho.
