Title: another elec window prob... wire..

my rear elec windows hav both stopped but, when i pressed the drivers side to go up it just slipped down and eventually got stuck half way up.i removed door card and saw a wire wich was real frayed and was jamming  i couldnt free it off and couldnt get the window up so i had to cut the wire now my window is held in place with a screwdriver   can I buy the wire and re-fit or am i gonna need a full unit any1 any ideas where is best to look?

cant buy the wire seperate vag do the regulator seperate from the motor but it'll cost you.  ive heard of people using bike cable to repair but it might be a tricky job!

Reckon i'm gonna have the same wire problem/what to replace on at least one of my windows..i'm kinda putting the job off but if i get to it before you i'll let you know if and what the answer is.

i had a broken motor from the otherside so i tried to swop the wire but that dint work!!!  il just go get a full unit from scrap yard somewhere
