can anyone help with this please?
My mate has just bought a mk4 gti that is half finished project and I have agreed to help him finish it! Basically it has r32 bumpers with no meshing, and I have noticed that the mesh needs to go in from the front. When i have meshed before I just wrap it around the back and bond it. The problem I have is where to get the mesh from, and also Im guessing that the bumper will be a replica, so will the original r32 mesh grilles fit into the holes? Or is my only option to buy a mesh sheet and cut to size?
cheers

i would say that you will pay quite a bit more for genuine R32 mesh, and from my research its also quite difficult to find the real stuff.
Yet if you do want to get the real mesh, it should fit if the replica bumper is a good mould, if the worst comes to the worst you can just
trim it down to size! Have a look on ebay!

Thanks mate, Ive now been told that the bumper is an original vw one so the vw mesh should fit. It only costs £24 from vw dealer for the 3 pices of mesh required.

It is more a thick plastic than a mesh. And it is correct they all clip in from the front and really finish it off. A tip is before you fit the new plastic mesh's is to maybe have them sprayed black to stand out rather than having the blank plastic colour.
