Title: Bought my first mk3 Golf gti 16v

Hey, just thought i'd show my face. Been around for a little while, but only as a spectator as i didn't have a car til recently.  Well i went and got myself a mk3 gti 16v.  Looks a little rough around the edges, needs a good service and some tlc, but hopefully will look like a minter some day.

Ill maybe stick some pics up, then i can do a before and after. :)

hehe likin it chuff.  Seriously considered a mk2 but being a student atm i presumed a slightly newer car would be more reliable.  I love the mk2's though. Definitely something i'd like to get my hands on in the future.

On a second note, what do people here think are the best mods for the mk3?  At the moment im just trying to restore it to its former glory, as its a bit rough around the edges.  Needs a good interior clean, but the seats are beyond repair.  Was thinking of getting some mk4 seats, good idea?

Other than that, maybe some smoked side repeaters, new exhaust, as the current one is blowing (i think).  Probably won't want to get a sports exhaust or anything though, cba with changing the insurance really.  Maybe a few other things, just looking around the site for a bit of inspiration.  Particularly love this look:
