Its for my MK2 Golf gti 16v 1987
Basically i have noticed a knocking noise when i begin to release the clutch to pull off. Its like a weird 2 knock/cranking noise.
Doesnt do it straight away usually, but after 10mins of driving it starts to do it everytime i pull off and release the clutch pedal, from traffic lights and so on.
Its kinda been doing it since the day i purchased the car, but then weirdly stopped when handbrake cable was changed. now its back again, and worse than ever. not sure if the handbrake issue is a coincedence, but thought ild say.
Any ideas what the problem is? and needs to be changed?
Cheers! much appreciated!

i had a "double" cluck on my car before i changed my suspension
couldnt find it for the life of me
turned out the 3 ball joint bolts were loose

frount mount is allways a favoret for pulling away cluncks

front mount?? the noise does seem to be coming from the front passenger side (left) of the car.
if its the front mount, is this a big job?
Is there any other tell tail signs i should be looking out for? or probably just the case of paying £££ at a garage to find problem
Someone else has suggesed it could be the clutch release bearing?

i had a similiar clunk, was a wishbone ball joint not expensive to replace really
