went to see Audi today to get a cambelt cover for the 20v. The convo went a little like this:
<me> I need a cambelt cover for a 180bhp TT
<bloke> ok.
*searches on his ETKA program
<me> it's the AUQ engine code...
<bloke> ok, do you have the vehicle reg?
<me> yeah, D144GYN ;D
teehee. He looked very confused.
Stupid stealership employees
-
Class!!
Poor bloke though!!
-
Cheeky mofo!!
Bet you the guy feels like a right idiot
-
lol ;D
-
hehe had a simular thing happen today.
Booked the mk1 into vw
bloke "what is the reg"
me "BUU823T"
bloke "oh a personal plate"
me "No thats the original one"
bloke (thinking stupid women) "well it can't be that engine"
me "yes it is"
bloke "no it can't be"
me "would you like to come and look?"
bloke "sh!t"
now lets hope as it is a engine they work on all day long they won't F*** it up!
-
G6, what engine you got hiding under the hood! Doesnt look stabdard from your sig
-
Its a golf Limited, At AMD it clocked 399BHP!! And that was without the supercharge upgrade. I think its a highly modified G60, But correct me if im wrote. Ive got pics of it on my camera ;D
-
the mk1 is a 1.8t isn't it?
the mk2 is a limited, supercharged 16v, fourwheel drive.....
-
Your making me dribble
-
^ I dont wanna know whats dribbling boy!
-
the limited clocked 299 not 399 lol
the mk1 has a 20vT from a SEAT iirc
-
was it 299? I could of sword it was 399 ???
-
Yes it was 299 but maybe you were thinking of the 400 it was with the twin screw hence it breaking!
It is going back to around 300bhp hopefully will be finished in a week or so
Yes and the mk1 is a 20vT same engine code as dizzie's I find from reading this :)
-
bloody vag I know more than they do they made the car worse! You would think they would know what they are doing on a engine they work on everyday!
Been back in complaining today, all i got was oh no we don't really know how to do it, we will see what we can look up and find out!
-
whats wrong with it ? im pretty familiar with the 20vT 8)
-
We did the lifts and since no one can set the car up right.
We have done it about 20 times now, trailered it up to volksspeed and now to vw wish we didn't touch it.
Have different instructions from different people that doesn't help and been told as it is after 2001 it is different!
The intake cam is the problem and trying to line it up with 16 of the rollers is a night mare, when you have done that the camb belt is out a tooth, but of course when you change that that puts the inlet cam out!
Any idea's? I am waiting for AMD to send me there instrcutions, they make more sence than vw have so far
-
odd.. very odd, pretty blank for ideas here unless somehow a wrong part has been ordered/used due to the 2001 changeover (although i cant think of anything that changed that year that would cause this..)
still, while it's in bits.. its easier to upgrade eh ? ;D
