Title: Changing Alternator
Post by: rizzel on 21 May 2009, 15:58
Hey Guys,

I'm trying to remove the alternator but I cant seem to find the right size spanner for the actual nut that holds it on... Have tried 12mm 13mm 1/2in... 13mm and 1/2in are too big and the 12mm is too small!! ahh its really annoying me..

Got a mk2 golf gti 1990 8valve..

Some help please!!!!

:(

the top tensioning arm arm and alternator toothed bolt should both be 13mm. the bottom pivot bolt is an allen bolt, if you're talking about that one this would explain why you're struggling ;)
