Title: need your help people

Hey huys hope you can help. had my gti 8v 1990 in the garage to be tuned up but now the brakes are really hard and the car hardly slows down  :sad:

they have said i need a vaccum pipe with check valve any one know where i can get 1????

any help much appreciated

Should imagine they mean the pipe that goes from the servo to the inlet manifold

Check there are no splits in it, if there is you can tape it up for a temporary repair, there is also a small plastic cap on there, if this comes off you will get issues, if its missing then i bodged one back together using a piece of rubber hose and a bolt and its been fine since

yeah sounds like they have damaged this when fiddling and want you to fork out for another, they dont tend to just fail.

they have said they dont make the part any more so they cant get it
cud do with finding one tho brakes arnt exactly spot on at the min

a mk3 one will fit, its a bit shorter but shouldnt be an issue.  unless they're on about replacing the entire hard vac line?
