Does anyone know at what temp does the fan kick in at on a golf gti mk3 please?

1st speed 95-84, 2nd speed 102-91
my guess thats switch on-switch off temperature :)

cheers. just following my other post under mk3, and looks like an airlock as pipes are really stiff...gonna try to get rid of air, then look at thermostat

Fan is kicking in now at 110, I think was an airlock plus it kicks in a little later than expected.

hmm, maybe the low speed setting on fan or switch has packed in?
if you disconnect the fan switch if it has 3 pins its a dual speed setup. bridge the red wire to 1 pin, then the other and it should come on slow & fast. if so the switch may be at fault, or you have poor coolant circulation thru the rad.  if it doesnt come on slow or fast, jump the fan direct from the battery. if it still doesnt come on slow or fast then the fan itself is buggered.

...might try that some other time. Just packed the tools away and cleaned up :undecided:
