Post by: Andyfloss03 on 20 May 2009, 09:41
when you pull forwards it makes a few clicks then stops.... then again when you brake or go into reverse...?!

is this like lower arm or cv or bushes or something...its right hand side

I'd get it to a local garage up on a ramp and let a pro take a look.

Get a price for the work, then get it done if you want or do it yourself if able ;)

sounds like the CV or something as silly as something stuck in the tyre

get it when you turn right... deffo a proper click.. like something moving.... when your going its fine.. just a sudden change in direction or something causes it to click.

deffo not summat in the tyre :)

could be brake pads in the caliper, remove them clean them up and use some copper grease when refitting, eliminates something easy before getting it garaged!

I have the same problem with that clicking noise, was told its most likely to be the cv joint too, but not had the time to get it done yet. I will be getting the wheel bearing done at the same time, cos its starting to annoy me! Most be a common thing on Golfs!
