Title: 18" Karthoum alloys
Post by: TagnuT on 19 May 2009, 20:50
Just found this Australian brochure for the GTI. It lists a set of 18" alloys called Karthoum as an option. No mention of the Monza IIs and the 17" wheels were refered to as Denver alloy wheels. Can't remember those 18"s being offered as an option over here. Don't even think that they were in the UK brochure.

I think the UK was the only country that called the alloys on the mk5 Monza and Monza II, everywhere else I've seen they're Denver and Detroit.

The Karthoum alloys were an optional extra for the mk5 but very very rare in the UK. You see them pop up on German Ebay from time to time.
There was a guy on uk-mkivs that had them on a TDI a few years ago. Not cheap!
