You could buy a cheap second hand mini-sized petrol generator? Might not be too much.

Hmmm interesting idea, ive always thought of generators being expensive and costing millions to run. Will have a look on ebay.

Do you not have any mates that are electricians that are looking for a homer? Wouldn't be too difficult to run a supply out to the garage.
Im a sparky but essex is a bit far for me to travel

beavis is running off me littel 3kva genny atm.
tbh petrol gennys don't cost much 2nd hand you can normaly get somethign for £50 at auction thats got a honda motor it'll look rough but go forever.
the littel 650w or 800w 2 stroke gennys are crap i have quite a few here used to use them for running the odd few lights at entarances to events but we gave up with them, they can be had for less than £50 new biut have a very short usefull life and they arn't reliable and smell only bounus is it dosnet matter if they get nicked.
small petrol gennys cost you about 33p per kwh (in fuel). they run on about £1ph flat out on low load they'll run on about 50p ph
diesel genny cost you about 14p per kwh ( in fuel )

Garage aint at my house, so cant run power to it.
Yeah might get a generator then. So i need one that is more than 800w. Shouldnt think thinkgs like polishers and drills etc would drain that much power.

These are good:

Would much prefer a cordless rotary. Must be one out there somewhere!

If not I'd imagine there is a big market for them!

Not so sure else you would see them out now - it wouldn't last very long if it was electric - look at those hand held vacum cleaners, I have a black and decker one and it only just does my car before it runs out of power (maybe 15 mins) - you could be polishing for a few hours. As mentioned above, best option is to get a generator or run some power
