Hi all, I've been away for a while, been mk2less for over a year now and missing the scene incredibly. Anyway, got plans to covert a mk2 to a vr6. Has anyone done the job? Or paid for someone to do it? How long a job was it? I've got an A1 mechanic who's very reasonably priced, would love him to get cracking asap. Cheers, Huw.

Best way to do it would be to get a complete Mk3 VR.
You could use all of the running gear from it to make it wide track, and have a base to fit the engine onto it.
I have a friend who just done it, he reckoned the hardest bit was fitting the pedal box and it only took 30mins.
Would you want to swap to he 5stud mk3 setup with the larger brakes? Or stick with the mk2 brakes? If so you could use the G60 brake setup.
There is a lot of info on this all over the web.
