Title: mk4 gti t ( REMAP )
Post by: blown the case on 18 May 2009, 09:29
Hi
Thinking of a remap on my 99 golf gti 20v T via a company MAS Performance based in Keighley W Yorks, just wondering has anyone had any experience of them or remapping in general. The guy claims I could expect about 190 bhp for £200 ish ? he did not suggest any furthyer mods or changes to valves or pipes ? The car is in good shape with 106k on clock, I just have concerns about turbo wear / clutch etc with the extra horses ?
Then theres the standard brakes and suspension ?
Any advise or comments would be greatly appreciated.......cheers

Hi, Check out R-tech, a lot of people on this forum (including myself) have had remaps by them, the service and customer aftercare is unbeatable.
Depending on your engine code between 190-210bhp is possible.

You will need to get a new diverter valve, Forge 007p is very good.
Some companies can supply/fit this for the remap. (R-tech supplied mine for a good price, and fitting price was included into the remap, as well as a throttle body clean).

You might want to upgrade your clutch, but the standard can handle the power.
Standard brakes are ample as well, but you can always upgrade at a later date.

Good luck! best mod for your 1.8T!(IMO) sooooo much fun
