Where definatley does the metal impeller? Does GSF? Just need to know before I get a load of 'they only come in plastic' as one place I've tried can only get plastic.
-
Awesome GTI use the metal ones, they're only about £25.
-
Most palces have revised the design of the plastic impellor water pump so it's not so fragile, I don't think it's a major prob any more
-
wazzer has hit the nail on the head. The new plastic ones are made from a different composite and much stronger so its not a worry anymore
-
I was speaking to the master mechanic at vw near me recently.
He still buys a metal one to put in his car.....
I think that speaks volumes ;)

hmmm that's interesting, the one I bought from them a month or so ago had the plastic impellor.
I will query why they have changed over and ask if I can send mine back to change it over...
-
VW maniacs are like anyone else and get stuck in there ways. We use plastics on our machines and its as strong and sometimes stronger than the steel as the steel can stretch
Each to there own but you could end up chasing something you dont need
-
i just bourght one from VW parts and it was a metal impeller one also

What did VW charge for the part?
-
i got it rade price which is £20.76 the retail price is £31.68. there was a £25 surcharge on the pump though, so if you get someone to change it then make sure you get the old unit back.

Personally I would rather have the metal one.
-
I also got the metal impeller one from vw
-
I've just been told from VW where I live that they can't get a metal one.
-
They cant get the metal ones now, only the plastic, parts guy told me that
Anyone else been told this
-
We'll buy it else where. VW, what a load of crap they are.
