right guys iam going to look at a golf gti 2.0t import on a 05 5 door in black with the 18" monza alloys...its done 25k and has sat nav but no leather... it says on the tech details that its a edition 30 and has 230bhp... but as far as iam aware the adition 30 only came out on a 2007????
now the main questions is it worth 11k?
is it worth less then a uk model?
i just cant put a price on it due to it being an import also its rhd.

Well FWIW, I VERY much doubt you'd get an ED30 for £11,000.
I would also question whether it's got 230bhp. Probably more like the standard etc
Money-wise I don't think it's that far off though - possibly a bit pricey but not by much. Bearing in mind that it's good mileage. Bit poor spec (also think that the ED30 has part-leather upholstery etc)
I personally don't think I'd have an issue with it being an import though.
Just my 2p.

Probably one of those dickhead sellers that is unable to correctly title a car. In his defence though, he has managed to match the advert price to the main price, unlike a lot of people on autotrader
-
Hmm, the ED30 didn't come out in MY05 guise...
-
Sold my 05 in Feb, Fully loaded except nav, 5dr DSG leather etc etc 28Kmiles UK car FSH and VAG extended warranty, IMHO better car than that one by some distance, for just over 11K, so looks high to me, especially being an import

will offer him 10k see what he says... oh just 1 more question why on parkers it says the golf gti 2.0t is the same bhp and 0-60 as the golf gti none turbo?
-
I'm trying to find a nice gti for myself at the moment. From what I can tell the prices have gone up a bit over the last few months! Certainly no 'bargins' about at the moment.
All I would say is check your insurance before hand as they do ask if it is an import and may effect the premium?
Looks a nice motor though, fancy a 3 door myself this time which is proving to be a bit of a nightmare as a lot of the gti's with a nice spec ATM are all 5 doors!

Have you ever used Autotrader to sell a car? Their website setup absolutely sucks - its complete trial and error posting any of the details. Its a wonder I sold anything!

That will be the mk4, initially there was a 1.8 non turbo and a turbo version. Then for some unknown reason vw dropped the 1.8 non turbo and replaced it with a 2.0 8v lump from the ark.

The advert says its got Sat Nav and MFSW. From the interior photo its got neither of those.......
-
LOL - I hadn't even spotted that!!!!
On second thoughts, I'd walk......
There will be plenty on the market in the coming months, once the mk6 is released ;)

Aint no Ed30!
-
Seriously, anyone who takes this lack of care when selling probably isn't looking after the car, even if it is genuine..... Walk.T.F away....plenty good real examples around...
-
Hmm, didn't I say earlier that the ED30 wasn't manufactured in 05??
-
its doesn't say ED30 in the ad, just Special Eds.
As the rear valance is painted, I'm guessing its some foreign "Special Edition" where that was considered special.
also its probably an 04 model year, as it doesn't have a roof aerial, so its suspiciously low miles too.
-
Its an 05 plate so yeah the milage is low for its age but thats not that unusual...
The ad is misleading, not sat nav, no MFSW and there are no golfs with run flat tyre system. Just the low tyre pressure warning. I'd walk away.
