I recently bought the above as a second car. It's a one owner 3-door in amazing 'time-warp' condition. It is close to bog standard spec. i think:Steel wheels, manual windows and no power steering etc.
I wondered if anyone would know what alloys would have been on the options list at the time,i'd like to keep the car original and 'correct' seeing as how well the first owner has kept it.I have a feeling the BBS RA's came along with the 'big bumper' cars.Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

p-slots
bottle tops (think only 16v's came with them)
teardrops
-
if ur intersted i'll have a set of 14" p slots off my 86 gti, not the best condition but with a refurb will look original
-
Thanks, but i'm not sure they were an option on the later small bumper cars.I'll probably end up selling the car before i find a suitable set of alloys.

yer p slots were only on the 85/86 i think, i would have said teardrops on an 89 8v
-
just buy a brochure from ebay or any brochure dealer and have a look in the options list, but id guess teardrops too
-
I am 99% sure that teardrops would be the correct ones.

Is that a BBS bodykit on the car in your sig? Looks nice and subtle.

Mystery solved.I managed to find a file of the original sales brochure on the Volkswizard site. They were indeed the teardrop pattern alloys on the 8v,bottletops on the 16v.Thanks for the input.

Am I right in thinking that BBS RM's were a optional extra?
