Title: Axle/jack stands.

Hi all,

Just looking for some recommendations for axle/jack stands - what do people find are good buys?

Also anyone have pics of ideal stand placement?

for axle stands id go for ratchet type, much more adjustable.
for jack get one of the big expensive ones. I have a jack from halfords, 3 tonne jack iirc, was fine with mk2 but with the mk3 theres more weight the jack is a tad more unstable.
Get one of the jacks with a big wide base and lifting point.

I bought a 5-piece lifting kit from halfrauds and to be honest the only thing I rate is the trolley jack (it supports my 5dr ED30 without problems). The axle stands have fixed height adjustments. Better to go for the adjustable ones as khare mentioned.
