Title: Back box pipe bore
Post by: morag on 14 May 2009, 22:30
I bought a jetex exhaust off ebay for my june 88 mk2 gti 16v, it supposedly came off a 90 gti 16v but the bore of the pipe is too large to fit mine.  Did they change in this time or is this dude telling me a lot of rubbish???

Well thats the problem with only buying part of a particular system i'm afraid. I believe though you can obtain connecting link pipes but i think that will compromise the fit to the car.

Jetex make systems and back boxes, they used to make the systems a slighty odd bore that would fit nothing else, however they also made back boxes that would fit a standard system.

Why not contact them direct with the part number and see if they can help: http://jetex.co.uk/

aye as said, jetex systems are 2.5" bore, you need the rest of the system or an adaptor

Reducers cost buttons off eBay - just need a bit of creative cutting/welding to make sure it doesn't extend the total length of the backbox by too much.
