Title: Good buy?
Post by: RICK.G. on 08 August 2004, 00:46
Just got hold of an 89 1.8 GTi8v for my lad in Alpine white 5 door with factory steel sunroof leecy windows central locking trip computer Volkswagen alloys big bumper model mot til April 05 and bodily very tidy, couple of minor probs one window don't work nearside rear,, slight oil leak suspect it may be oil cooler O ring, had to replace coolant pressure cap as the seal ring was mising.
And I have to say it drives really well, nd goes very well too, and that from someone who is used to having over 200 bhp on tap, any way we paid ?325 for it, and the lad who is 21 by the way has fell in love with it  and all thoughts of getting his previously cherished Mondeo back on the road are out of the window..
Great site BTW 8)

Thanks guys,
I don't know about getting my own Golf, I like my ST, but an R32 would be nice, And I have to say, after the Mondeo I love the simplicity of the Golf and I love the way it drives really takes me back to my youth, But if another one comeup for reasonable money I might treatmyself to a toy to play with. another thing I was amazed by is the parts prices had a look at German and Swedish just out of interest and could not believe how cheap some of the parts were.
Cheers ;)
BTW thanks for posting the piccy m8 I don't know where I was going wrong ???

I only ever use Megauires products m8
Done the black trim with Tyre gel  leaves it looking well smart ;D
The boys been out there tonight going over it with clay bar scratch x and gold class wax shines like a sixpence up a sweeps ar*e ;)
