Car parked out side of work. 5 parking spaces. Me parked in mine and 4 others free. Some tw4t reverses into the side of my car!!!
What a total w4nker!!! For the 2nd time!!!!
Just watched it back on CCTv and he reverses back despite a drive on/off forecourt straight into the side of mine, goes forward, then parks up. Then has the nerve to come in and talk to me like nothing has happened!!
-
Again?!?! Well it's one way to have your car cleaned inside and out F.O.C i suppose
-
At least you have CCTV of it mate! I was left £1000 out of pocket when it happened to me as they left the scene, even used posters for info but got nothing
-
Ouch! How bads the damage? At least you got proof mate..
Off topic, but Jules are you on the type-r forum aswell mate?
-
THERE BAST**DS when they do this! I always get bad looks when I park sidewards at a supermarket or sumin (being logical and takin up 2 spaces), even when there are hundreds spare still. only coz we dont like people parkin next to our pride n joys!
Soz to hear this! It happened to two of my mates, at currys and halfords, both drove off, thus neadin a new door!
Hope it gets sorted and the person gets his desert !

Have you now caught up with him?

Yeah CCTV has him nailed thankfully. Havent had a chance to confront him yet but will catch up with him later no doubt.
Went straight over to VW to get a quote...... £1200 approx
Glad Im not paying for it. Helpful guy at VW (who I had a few arguments with last time ) has been real good this time. Says he has a like for like car as a replacement which is good of him. Im just looking forward to the shock on the guys face when i pass him the bill

Yeah reg customer at work. i will catch up with him at some point no doubt. nice guy as well... or so i thought :undecided:
-
Caught up with him this morning...
Said he heard something, but didnt think he had hit something  :lipsrsealed:
Anyway he told me to get it repaired, and will pay the cost of repair cash. Owned up very quickly for someone who claims he didnt do anything. Well that was until I told him how much it will cost... his eyes nearly fell out of his head.
Kind of felt sorry for him in a way (must be getting old), but I guess in the light of things I shouldnt as it would have been me paying if it wasnt for CCTV. Will be speaking to insurance today... want it repaired asap. Dont like being out of my own car.
-
Nice one :) At least it's getting sorted!
Now.. I wonder if I can sue the birds outside my house the cost of a valet for sh*tting all over my car!!
-
I would try and make sure you get the cash up front, OR (and most preferable) insist that he goes through his insurance, and you can go to them direct and deal with them and them only. You will also then be able to claim for a courtesy car (lease car like for like, so you are not put in some sh1tty Fiat Punto)
This has happened to be with my last Beamer, same amount of damage, car off the road for 8 days, but got a brand new Z4 to play with in that time (bill for that was £2000!) all paid for by Direct Line.
Your repair people will also be happier to deal with an insurer

If he is getting a like for like vehicle I would take a wild guess and assume he is going through an Accident Management company, this way he will not e out of pocket if it all goes wrong. The danger of an cash agreement is that as the victim you still need to keep your costs down where possible as when these type of things go to count the judge can sometime rule in the 3rd parties favour. Would keep it all insuranceand accident management if ti were me.

Hes about 60 odd... im 29. That would not be cool.
Like I said I felt a bit sorry for him to start with, but considering it would be me shelling out £1200... not too bothered now. He did try to deny it, but once CCTV was mentioned he backed down.
I did offer to show hom the footage but he refused. Quite possibly because it shows him looking at the damage he caused.
